twelve thousand pounds having been
grown on a plantation in. Colleton
county a fow miles from here. Tea
has been grown In Ponhurst, at the
government experimental garden, for
tho past two years at Summorvlllo,
but tho product marketed now is tho
first of a purely commercial venture.
It la expected that next year's out
put will bo a very largo ono, as tea
Is to bo grown on a very largo num
ber of plantations.

Florida's Mullet Fishery.
Tampa, Fla., Dec. 22. During tho
season Just closed 3,516,400 pounds
of mullet and other flsh were export
ed from tho small Ashing port of
Punta Garda. The bulk of tho ship
ments went to Jacksonville, Savan
nah and Charleston, from which
points they were distributed. The
crows havo all been paid off and will
not resume work until January 1.
