trado is based on moderation and
temperance and it is our duty to op
pose intemperance in every form.
Wo abhor drunkenness and will
gladly aid any movement designed
to check tho excessive consumption
of intoxicants; we recognize and ap
preciate fully, the necessity of rogu
latlng the traffic nnd surrounding it
with all tho safeguards that public
health nnd mornllty may exact. Tho
progress of temperance reached its
highest point in such counties that
ncted upon this principle.
5. We condemn nil saloons of

and nro in favor of the ennctment of
nil Just laws governing tho liquor
