' iv .avss .-.'s. !. "j'; AVEN'Tyou often taken n pan of bread out of the oven, burned to n crisp on the outside, nnd a mass of dough inside? Or perhaps baked more on the top than on the bottom ? No matter how you try, you can't cook evenly in that oven. Turning the dishes, or covering them with brown paper or pans seems to do no good. Now, Mrs. Housekeeper, doubtless you are using the old fashioned common steel and cast iron range. t The range oven probably is simply flanged over and riveted to the range body, and daubed with stove putty. The seams have opened up from the expan sion nnd contrac tion of heat nnd cold, and cold nir leaks in so the fire doesn't burn evenly. Besides, the damper is perhaps n slide affair ou the side of the range, or a. single door at one end of the fire-box. Consequently the fire is hot next the draft door, and hardly burning on the other cud so the oven is not heated uniformly. That's why you can't cook successfully why your bread bums why you arc wasting fuel. You should have n range that will not open up in the joints arrange that is so strongly and tightly built that there isn't the least possible chance for nir leaks. You shoutd have n Monarch, Mrs. Housewife. For the Monarch Range is not made of steel and cast iron, Gut of Malleable Iron and Wcllsvillc polished steel. Malleable Iron frames are used throughout to make a rigid, unyielding base to which the sides are riveted tightly and solidly. The scams won't open up in a Monarch in a hundred years. So there is no faulty construction to be covered up by stove putty. Another feature which makes the Monarch superior to any range on the market is the Duplex Draft, which admits air at both cuds of the fire-box. Thus an even fire is assured at all times, and the oven is uni formly surrounded by heat. There is the same temperature on oue side as the other. Hence every baking done in n Monarch oven is successful. The top of the Monarch is Malleable Iron, which needs no blacking. It turns a 'hand some steel blue color with use, needs only to be wiped, off when through using.
