vorce. Ho hesitated, but tho answer
was "Yes." Next? "If you cannot
havo a dlvorco, and your wife hns
grounds, do you want her given a dl
vorco!" Tnggart was not nllowod to
answer. Answering tho third quostlon,
Tnggart nnld he wanted tho decroe
granted nccording to tho ovidonco. Tho
court rofused to dismiss tho cross-bill.
The deposition of Captain Poor waB
road concerning tho trouble after ho
had taken Mrs. Tnggart homo. Ho Bald

loud voices, which soon ceased. "Noxt
morning Mrs. Poor went to Tnggart 's
homo. I was called to procuro protec
tion for Mrs. Taggart, and reported to
Col. Minor. Tnggart said ho was nearly

fends and promised novor to repeat it."
That day Mrs. Poor saw Tnggart nt

Poor told of her visit to Mrs. Taggart

It was previously testified by
another witness thnt Mrs. Taggart had
said Mrs. Poor had defeated her in a
drinking bout at Fort Thomas. Mrs.
Poor said sho "never heard of such a
contest,"

Saffron, of Fort Logan, Colo., testified

Lieut. Parker, of tho 12th New York,

hour, and Mrs. Tnggart and I drank

wearing a honvy overcoat, although the
night wns warm. Mrs. Taggart stood
up with her glass in her hand. Taggart
knooked it to tho floor. Mrs. Taggart
went homo with her husband, and tho
officers accompanied mo a fow minutes
later. It is not true that the officers
were drunk. Mrs. Tnggart hadn't taken
