by the steamer Itonnoake; she arrived
yesterday from Snn Pedro and way
ports. On the next trip she will brims

oranges from Southern California. From
here the fruit will be shipped to the
Sound, Spokane, Helena, Butte and
ninny other points in the Rooky Moun
tain country. It is the first time that
ornngos have- been brought by steamer
direct from Southern California.
The owners of the Ifoanoako say that
they are more than satisfied with the
patronage given and promised their
line, which has been in operation Iwh
than two months. On this last trip the
steumor carried 4r0 tons of general
merchandise and 02 pnssengers. Ar
rangements havo been mudo for carry
ing wheat to Los Angeles, which is also
a departure. Tomorrow morning at D
o 'elock tho steamer will sail with POO
tons of wheat, which will bo discharged
at San Pedro, only 20 miles distant
from tho Southern California metropo
lis. The grain is for milliner there, and
will not ho exported.
