Hap piness as well as health is restored to the woman whose diseased condition is cured by the use of Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription. After eight years of suffering and two fruitless operations, three mouths' use of "Favorite Prescription" restored Mrs. Sloser to perfect health. QUEEN'S JUBILEE PRESENTS Five Million Dollars Worth at Worlds Fair ? St. Louis, "Qeti lOf-'iiflo'Voor, dear old Queen! Five million tfollars' worth of presents nnd not a thing sho could use. Not oven ,n sofa (willow to lnv nor head on;.,noucvcukn pair of com fortable carpet-slippers for her tired feet." This was .Tnno's comment nftcr look ing over Queon Victoria's jubileo pres ents which aro displayed in 25 liirgo glass cases onctlieiippor floor of tho Hall of Congress. Sho doubtless ex pected to see an array of sugar spoons, salad forks, clocks, card trays, linen napkins and other useful things such as nre comm'ouly bestowed upon tho brides of our town. John thought 'ilioy " might havoi.gfvenvhur nlmnniouro set or autograph album just to mako her thing of old times." But here nro over four hundred presents, mostly from tho Queen's sub jects in her colonies, and not ono of tliem of any uso except a sumptions carved ivory chair, the gift of tho Maharajah of Travancorc. This chair Is valued nt $250,000, nnd yet I doubt if tlio Queen over sat in it. Tho other presents consist largely of silver and sandalwood caskets, richly carved, and many of them inlaid with ivory. Many of them are cylindrical in shape, doubt less containing scrolls f parchmont upon which the Queen subjects wrote their felicitations and good wishes. A particularly costly nnd beautiful casket fiuno from the Sardar Kdnljl Khur shedji Mottl and tho Pars! community of Surat. Ono naturally wonders why tho Sunlar nnd tho Parsi community didn't send an nutoniobilo cont or a necklace of pears or something real swell. There arc caskets galoro from Al lahabad, tho Dowan of Palanpur As sam, the Maharajah of Orehn, tho Ra jah of Bobblll In Vizagnpatam, Mad ras, and a wholo lot of Indian Rajas and Princes. Thero are also royal sad dles and elephant tusks. Tho Indian Rnjas and Princos meant will, but soiiu ono should have passed the word around not to make, any moro caskets or music cases. Tho two swarthy British ofllccrR who nro guarding these presents aro tho biggest men I hnve seen nt tho exposition. Tho Pata gonian giants aro sinnll beside them. I nsked ono of them what tho jubileo presents wero valued nt. Ho said that no ono hail undertaken to estlmato their value and that thoy wore not insured. I also learned that tho presonts shown nro only u tenth part of what the Queen received, and that their vnluc had been estimated by American sil versmiths at five million dollars. John's step was elastic, and his faoe lighted up with pleaHant expectancy as wo climbed the hill to tho Jnpar iicho pnvilluus mid pagodas. John swears by tho little Jap. Ho wants to see everything ho does and every thing ho makes and I must admit that these little "Yankees of tho East" nro by far the most interesting people at tho exposition. It is hard to think of them shelling Port Arthur nnd pounding tho Czar's army out of its boots, ho gon tic, unobstruslvo and mild-mniiiiorcd nre thoy. Not content with occupying n large portion of each exhibit palaco with tho products of their skill and industry thoy havo thrown in this exhibit on tho hill for good monsure. Passing through the great carved wood on gates wo sat dawn iu a near-by tea houso to rest and to drink some Formosa tea served by the little Japan oho maidons who, Jano says, "aro just too onto for anything." n i Testimony of a Minister. Rov. Jno. 8. Cox, of Wake, Ark., wrltos, "For 12 yoars I suffered from Yellow Jnundlee. I consulted a num ber of physicians and tried nil sorts of medicine, but got no rellof. Then I began tho use of Electric Bitters and feel that I am now cured of a dUoase that had me in its grasp for 12 years," It you want a reliable modlolne for Liver and Kidnoy troublo stomaoh disorder or general debility, get Eleetrie Bitters.
