CASE
Now Haven, Conn., Aug. 13. A de
cision adverse to W. J. Bryan. In his
contest over tho will of tho late P. S.
Bennett, of New York, nnd this city,
was handed down yesterday bty tho
supremo court of errors. Tho decision
virtually denlos that Mr. Bryan Is en
titled to tho $50,000 mentioned In tho
sealed lottor written by Mr. Bennett
and addressed to hla widow, which
was to bo read by her after his death.
By this letter, tho widow was asked
to glvo $50,000 to Mr. Bryan and his
family,
Tho decision sustains tho opinion
given by tho superior court In tho
caso last spring, and nlso the decision
of tho probate court beforo which tho
mwttor was brought up. No opinion
was filed with tho decision which was
given by Chief Justlco Torrance. Jus
tlcea Hall, Hammersley, Baldwin and
Prentlco concurred.

on his way to Freoitort, O. When told
of tho decision of the Connecticut
supreme court of appeals ho declined
to discuss tho matter further than
