terpleces in Salem. ThU collection
consists of 180 splendid reproduc
tions in largo carbon photographs, en
gravings and photogravures of old
and modern masterpieces from the
gallorles of tho old world, with some
of tho best works from private gal-
lories. Nearly every gallery an coun

visited to soe tho originals of tho pic
tures which nro to bo brought here
In one collection. Tho pictures are
framed suitably for school and homo
decoration, and1 nro to bo exhibited
horo with tho purpose of arousing In
terest In favor of such decoration.
Tho collection Is loaned to the schools
for one week beginning October 19,
on consideration that the proceeds of
the exhibition be Invested with the
Elson company for pictures. Tho
