The board Is still negotiating with
tho ownor of Cresceus, tho great
trotting stallion, to appear In oxhl

for success.
Tho stock salo, -which It was Ije
llovcd might bo a failure for a year or
two, already promlnes to be a great
success, and many fine cattlo will bo
placed on sale. None but registered
stock, standard bred, will bo offered
for sale, and enough has already been
promised to mako the succoss of this
department assured. Mr, Harrlman
an extensive brooder of fine stock and
an experienced auctioneer, will bo in
chargo'of the sales department, and
will personally conduct tho sales. He
Is from Missouri, and has sold at auc
tlon more fine stock than any other
man In tho West.
The county exhibits aro moving
along nicely, and will bo by no means
the-smallest of the attractions at the
big fair fn fact, the agricultural
show will be a revelation to all. and
will surprise oven thoso who have at
tended the fair year after year, and
who thought that the efforts of tho
past few seasons could not be equalled
In the future.
Mr. Wehrung goes to Portland this
evening, but will return tomorrow,
and will do everything In his power tq
have the Improvements now under
way at the fair grounds completed
long before the fair open In September.
