Of the Owl family, there is one
specie that Is very common ia these
counties; it is the Ilurrowing Owl
in color he is very much like other
owls, but he is the only one that lives 1
in the ground, and does not sleep in
the daytims. You cannot travel far
without seeing him sitting on a fence
post or at the mouth of an old badger
hole, and seems to be making bows
to you. They build their nests down
in the old badger holes, and lay two
white eggs.
