From a nolltkal BtnndiHunt, it is not
believed that the regular session, be
ing Uenubllcau, would enact the rec
ommendations of a Democratic gover
nor, and the opponents of the reform
would clamor for a constitutional con
vention as the only true solution of
the dlftleulty.

CHAMBERLAIN'S WONDERFUL
RUN.
Albany Democrat.)
Republicans genorally declare that
they have learned a losson from the
recent contest over tho governorship,
and men who supported Furnish now
that the election Is over admit frankly
that a big mistake was mado In nom
inating a roan like Furnish in the way
In which he was nominated. It makes
a busy time for some to explain the
cause of Chamberlain's Immense run
for the office. Ills personal popularity
had something to do with IL but there
were other causes, and Furnish him-
self furnished some of them with his
past omrlal record. In the face of the
strenuous effort made to ring In na
tional politics the vote for Mr
Chamberlain was simply wonderful.
for it Ib a fact that a large number
did not vote for Mr Chamberlain, who
would Wave done so but for the parti-
