over hold In Salem was that which at
tended the marriage of Miss Mabel,
youngest dnughtcr of Rev. and Mrs. N
Shupp,-to Mr. George M. Mungcr, Jr.,
on Wednesday evening, April 30, 1902.
The ceremony was performed nt tho
Chomoketa-stroot Evangollcal church
nt 8 o'clock last evening by tho bride's
father. Rev. N. Shupp, In tho presence
of nbout 200 Invited guests, who were
conducted to tholr seats by Messrs R.
A. Watson and S. A. Slowort, who
served n ushers.
The little chapel hnd been very beau
tifully decorated for tho occasion. At
tho rear of tho pulpit was a bank of
perfect apple blossoms, whllo festoons
of Ivy wero arranged from tho celling
and chandeliers. Tho pink and green
effect resulting from tho dcoorntlons.

tho tissue-paper-covered electric light
globes, was especially pretty. Tho al
tar railing was covered with dogwood,
which, with some very choice ferns.

At tho appointed hour Miss Jean
Shupp, a sister of the bride, entered tho
church auditorium, and, to accompnnl

of tho selection, Miss Byrd began tho
execution of Iohcngrln's wedding
march, to tho stialns of which the
bridal party entered. The groom, at
tended by W. H. Burghardt, Jr.. as

ating clergyman, Rev. Shupp, passed
up tho side aisle and took their places
before tho pulpit. Miss Neva Oris
wold, attired In a gown of blue silk,
and carrying an arm boquet of pink
carnations, was mnld of honor, and
marched up tho center aisle, followed

ter Marian Martin, who scattered
