There are thousundi of women who ihrlnk
In terror at the thought of the baby's coming.
But childbirth Is one of the working! of Nature
and It wis not intended to Imply 'torture and
agony to the heroic mothers of the race. The
woman who suffers torture during pregnancy
and at childbirth has usually, by some Indij.
cretlon, Injured the organs which make her a woman. Neglect of menstrual
Irregularities leads to ovarian pains, falling of the womb and leucorrhoea,
and the period of pregnancy Is necessarily distressing under those condi.
tlons. Wine of Cardul will regulate the menstrual lunction perfectly and
eventually make the generative organs strong and healthy. Pregnancy and
childbirth have no terrors for the woman who takes this pure Wine. A strong
healthy womb will bring Its precious burden to maturity with little or no
pain. A healthy woman need not fear childbirth. Wine of Cardul completely
cures all these troubles familiarly known as "female diseases" and equips the
sensitive generative organs for pregnancy and childbirth. It will save any
mother much pain andsutftrlng. All druggists sell $1.00 bottles.

COUNTY
OFFICIALS
Still Disagree Over Making
Tax Certificates
The controu-rsy between the County
Clerk and Sheriff concerning the redemp
tion of piopertynold for delinquent taxes
for the year 1S01, is no nearer an adjust
mi nt than when precipitated Inst week.
Neither of the two ofllcere is making
provision In Ids respective department
for tho perlorniance of this important
work nnd the question bus not ) it b.cn
formally presented to tho judicial
otllcers of the county for n legal opinion
tlieieon.
Tho eherlff will maintain that tho
ttoik must 1 o performed in the clerk's
department under the provinionB of tho
old law, the terms of which governed
tho delinquent tax ralo by which tho
pro)riy was sold.
The e erlcRl work n quired in con
nection with thu performance of
this tabor over which tho die
cutslou aroee, amounts to a con
siderable item. Tlio sale called
for tho writing of nearly 700 tax
cirtiflrates, and n redemption certificate
must be Irsiieil for every parcel of prop
erty that Is n deemed an.' a correct
reeo'd of Hi'cb proceedings must bo
kept. At tliis season of tho jear County
Clerk Hall is almost swatnpsd with
work, aud having on hand tho extension
of the 1001 tax roll, registration of
voters, euiiiinoninir of jurors, two de
partments of tho circuit court, besides
tho routine work of his department, and
the new law contemplates that tho re
demption ol property shall bo mado.
Tho sheriff says that ho will not be
ablo to make bis returns on the 1000 de
linquent rolo and sale until Fobruary
15, rb it will require until then to com
plete writing the tax certificates.
At the ucent wile, County Judge
f-'rott on Lebalf of Marion county, bid
in propel ty aggregating over $1)00 in
delinquent tnx'. Ibis property will
have toborede-med in thatame manner
as though it had ben bid in by in
dividual parties, tlio county realizing
the usual 20 per cont penalty cbargo, in
adidition to the amount of the tax in
every instance.
The coa s on the recent delinquent
tax sale has netted over $100 expenses.
