Market. On Sunday a. m. I attended

to Wellesloy also. That is a boautiful
spot and I do not wonder that Wellosley
girls aro proud ol their college. Boston
Is such a quaint city with ita narrow

There was much more I wanted to seo
but there was no time. lu New York
wo stopped at the St Dennis hotel, a
house but does not compare with our
Boston or Washington hotels. Tho
Metropolitan Art gallery was our Mecca
horo and It is an immense affair at the
end ol Control Park. Ono could Btudy
there for weoks and seo only a part. Ono
morning 1 went shopping. I bought
some articles at Wannmaker's big store
and saw many othor Que stores as well.
One Monday evonlng my friends called
and took mo to dinnor then wo walked
up tho famous Oth Avonue to 40th and
back on 5th avonue,the great millionaire
strootand I bbw New York at midnight.
The streets from 23d down to 14th wore
throngod, but othor wise fairly quiet for
so largo a city. Broid way was teeming
also and during tho day everything
Is ono mad rush yot there is no trouble
at ail about finding localities. Tho car
sorvico is good and if one has a tonguo
and can ask questions he ia all right,
but I do not hko N. Y. and would not
caro to llvo there On Tuesday evening
I was invited to take dinner at tho most
grand eating house ol tho city whoro
only tho very walthy can afford to
go, and whoro it costa ten dollars
a meal. Talk about elegant gowns.

bit ol snow horo, but tho wind, both
hero and in Washington, is bitter cold.
But boat of all cities is nurdear Capital,
Washington. Cleanliness Is next to
Godliness horo, and such protty -streets
and flno buildings I never saw before.
Thus far I have been through the Cot
oran A t gallery, the Capitol, Congres
sional Library, tho Treasury, 8mlth
Bonian Institute, and to tho top of tho
Washington Monument. Tomorrow I go
into tho White Home, Patent OIllco,
and out to Mt. Vernon, In the House
of Representatives I stood behind tho
chair where Thomas Tonguo sits, so I
buodoso I did my duty by Oregon. I

for It would tako too long, and even thon
would bo a feoblo attempt at beat. Tlio
Library is flnoat of all and ia the largest
in the world, and Is beautiful both in
side and out. Congroid is, of course,
closed now, but there is a lady with our
