church ngnliist Mr. 8cnggs, who has been
preaching there.

pear, claims that "it Is n union church;"
thntit waa built with the understanding
that Mr. Scaggs wna to preach thoro;
that "tho pooplo turned it over to tho
M. E. church nt Turner."

The church in question is not now nor
novor was a union church. Witness the
language of tho original subscription
which waa circulated for funds with
which to bu'ld tbo church :

Tho Trustees of tlio church requested
Mr. Scaggs to msko no furtbor appoint
ments on Sunday evening. This wrltton
roriuust waa handed to Mr. Bcoggs by
Mr. Durfoo, who assured him thoro
woro no objections to his use of tho
church on Sunday afternoons whon'not
occupied. No further appointments
