Where the Duel Took Place
The idaooting took place about two
miles southwest of Aurora, on what waa
formerly the Champue and Aurom
road. Thurrton Grim wont to work at
about 8 o'clock under the direction of
Hoad Supervisor Albert Kerns.

and the stakes had been pulled up. The
stakes wore found Thursday and replaced
and Mr Grin wasauthcrixed to measure

laud. A woman, supposed to be Mrs.
Hoppel, ordered him out. Hoppel
appeared and ordered the woman to

21, ami a farmer named Mike Breuuan,
and another neighor near by, but ho

Brohm, hut his real name was supposed
to bo Warner, Howbb of German birth

His body was discovered about 0:10 lait
night by Niglitwatchman 1 ntterson, as
he woe making his regular roinds. The
last time be was teen previous to
this waa at 6:30 o'clock, whou
Librarian Riley took him n Ger
man newspaper. He thanked him
for it but said lie did not care for it. It
is believed tiict he hanged himself soon
after thia time. Hia coat waa hung iu
ita usual place in the cell. There is u

close to the ceiling, nnd lie-evidently had
taken the stool with which all the cells
hto provided and placed it under this
pipe near Hie corner of Hie room. He
then took the bunk cord the cord imd

around his neck and the watir pipe
