were present, including Governor F. M.
Hunt, Mayor J. 11. Richardson of Boise
and a dozon prominent bankers nnd
capitalists. It was one of the most
representative gatherings of men ever
assembled tn tho state of Idaho and the
capital represented many millions of
dollars.

railroad into the Seven Devils country
marks n now era In that celebrated cop
per anil gold producing region. It Is rich
In mineral wealth and timber and thous
ands of tons of or havo been piled upon
the dumps of tho mines for years past
because thero wore no adequate means
of transportation. So rich is the cop
per ore that many tons havo been
freighted for 40 and CO miles and then
shipped to the smelters at a good profit.
