Hasn't tho campaign by train been

BUSINESS CONDiTIOhS AT SALEM ARE
BOUNDTOOE FAVORABLE.
Whilo grain waa a failure in western
Oregon tho past yoar, tliero is plenty of
hay and feed for stock. Tlio fall has
been mild nnd favorable for all kinds of
cattle. The potato crop is turning out

fair prices for hops and prunoa next

anything theso days. Still wo have
reason to expect fair prlcos will prevail
for wool and all kinds of stock.
Indications aro that tho torrlblo com

wo may reasonably expect that all

tho present city administration by which
tho sprinkling, care and repair of streets

The fine piece ot boulevard built out

An united effort should ho made this

Some Expressions
Dr. W. A. Cusick: Wo havo entered
into this movomont as a business pro
position, and nil political considerations
wero eliminated. It has succeeded well,
and all our officers havo fulfilled their
pledges bo faithfully that I bellovo that
every taxpayer has received great benefit
from tho administration. I am un

Ladd & Dusht Let ns continue It by

J. Q. Barnes: Tho presont adminis

finances has boon unexcelled, and should

Gilbert Bres: Lot us retain tho pres

have been no "jobs," and only tho boat
interests' of the city havo been con

0. L. Dally: I don't aeo how it can

W. F. Boethhy: I favor keeping th

Etigono Broymen: Tho administra

II. P. Beise: Tho record will show
that city affairs managed as a part of a
political machlno has been a dismal
failure, and managing It as at prosent,
with politics left out and bueintss put
in, has been a decided success. I want

W. W. Skinner: I favor continuing
