No rain has fallen during the week
and It is now quite badly needed for
gardens, spring wheat, corn and pas'

An immenso amount of damago has
been dono within tho last few days to
clover, potatoes, gardcus and other green

tho Willamette valley and Coast district.
They have not yot appeared in Southern

Marion county, 4 to 14 bushels: Clacka

6 to 15 bushels. Thrashing is not yet
general, and these yiolds do not repre

the amount obtained from a few fields.
Tho spring wheat promiees to yield
better than the fall sown, nnd cast of

Oats and barley nro nearly all cut in

Tho harvest of flax has begun, nnd
tho yield is very satisfactory.
Lice nro increasing in tho hop yards
and Botno complaint is made of tho vines
being blighted, but tho crop as a whole
is doing nicely and promises well.
A large acreago of potatoes lias been
planted, but tho blight and worms havo
been very damnging, and considerable
uncertainty now exists regarding tho
future outcomo of this orop.
Irrigation water is becoming scarce
and pastures are getting short, but no
suffering among stock is reported.
Fruit not damaged by spring frosts is
doing nicely. Early penchcB, apples,
melons nnd plums nro in the market,
and tho later varieties are maturing
very rapidly under tho influence of
abundant sunshiuo and warm weather.
8praying, as a rule, has been very
thorough, nnd nil fruit is unusually
sound and healthy.

A Preparation Discovered That Will Destroy'
the Dandruff Germ,
For some time it has been known
that dandruff is caused by a germ that
digs up the scalp into little white llakos,
and by sapping the vitality of the hair
at the roots, causes falling hair, and, of
course, finally haldneeB. For years
there have been all kinds of hair stimu
lants and scalp tonics on thf market,
but there has been no permancm cure
(or dandruff until the discovery of a
preparation called New bro's Herpicide,
which deotroys the dandruff germ. De
stroy the cause the effect will cease to
exist. Kill the dandruff germ and you'll
