cil inaugurated a new policy that of re
quiring tho beneficiaries ot franchises to

slowly about 20 minutes.

nnd may follow the samo rules as black
berries, but to my mind tho most at
tractive uso ot this fruit is In the old
fashioned raspbarry vinegar. For u lit
tlo family you will want only n small
quantity, as It Is generally too strong
and must bo diluted in watcc when
used. Cover 1 quurt of raspberries with
1 pint of the best elder vinegar nnd let
It itiuiif for two days; drain, off tho
liquid and pour It over 1 pint of fresh
fruit, lotting it stand again 2 days; re
peat this with 1 more pint ot fresh fruit.
At the end of tho last 2 days strain tho
liquid, add 1 pound ot sugar to each
pint ot juice, boll slowly tor 10 minutes
uud put Into small bottles. With a
good cork tho liquid will keep without
Ix'ing inndu , nir-tlglit. This amount
should fill 1 or 6 )i pint bottles, which
should bo dnlnty uud attractive in shape
and one ot which will often make a ro
freshing gift to nit Invalid friend.

In selecting veal alwnyo tnko that

kidney is well surrounded with fat and

veal may bo mado over into a palatable
dish. Cut thu meat In slices, dredge

catsup, fait and pepper. Then add a
few slices of cold boiled ham, nnd last of
