have probably been accustomed to good
quarters, and If you move them without
providing tho necessary hutches lor
their needs, they may take cold and
cause you much loss and Inconvenience.
A rabbitry may cost fiom a few dollars
up lo many hundreds, according to what
you want nnd can afford to spend. If
your means are very limited a few dry
goods boxes aloiit 4x4 feot will sulllce.
Mako a wire door In front and hinge the
top ol each box. This will bo found a
great convenience for feeding, and will
not necessitate stooping. From this
simple dry-goods box there aro many
grades of rabbltries, up to tho aristo
cratic onea that have cement floors,
palms and roses I A lofty California
barn inakee aliout the best rabbitry you
can havo. Itcanbu kept fairly warm
in winter and comparatively cool In
summer. There Is usually an opening
on ono side near tho roof, which gives
tho deceseary top ventilation; this If
found too driilty, can Ik) coiered with
cloth iu winter, but will be found of
great benefit in summer. Then if tho
largo door faces the routh It will let In
nil tho sunshine and fresh air requisite
to the hea'th of tho rabbits.
Ibis barn should have two or three
tiers of hutehesnll around the sides, witli

ter, These hutches should be about txt
feet arid 'J feet high. The floors should
bo made of No. - fitted lumber; if plain
boards oro used the moisture will run
through from the hutches above and bo

made without a Door, merely stretching

from 2 to 3 feet wide. Cover the whole
of the ground with 1-Inch mesh The
four shies and all partitions, doors, etc.,
should have 4 inch mesh for 1XA to Z
feet from the ground, and then 3 feet
more of 1-inch mesh, U made as high
as this they will be found wry conven
ient, as they don't require any top. so
that you can walkthrough them with
out stooping. There are many other
ways ol ananging rabbitries, which we
will discuM later. The one described
I have found very practicable in every
way.

water once a day. Don't be content
with filling up the Tercels only, but
empty the stale water out, wie the
crocks IWore refilling. Wash them thor
oughly at'leaat Ob&s a month. Ammonia
water is good for a disinfectant. The
crocks that are light gray in color and
glazed inside oud out are the best to use
becmito you can then see when the
water has becorno foul. Remember
Itelgians are naturally very cleanly.
They won't Uirlve on impure water,
stale food and dirty hutches. During
the heat of summer you must be doubly
careful about keeping your rabbitry in
perfect order, if you wuut your stock to
have perfect health.
