about4o'lock this morning a small
body of rebels uttucked a camp of the
Third artillery from u swamp near
l'aomboan,a mile and a half west of
Mulolos. Two privates wcro killed
and u lieutenant and two others were
wounded.
At daylight tho American forces
scoured the district, driving the rebels
northward and killing seycrul. One
private of the Montana regiment was
wounded.

latest news or orders from thv
war department, It appeared
that the volunteers would boon be
given a chance individually ft come
home or to re-enlist, This being all
that those present would care to Insist
on, it was decided to make no move at
present, but to save the ammunition
for a grand hurrah when the boys do
come home.
