gratulate President McKlnley on
these reassuring evidence of the wis
dom and ability of his administration.

the original McKlnley men and their
near relatives are provided for, we
may look for a prompt return of
sweeping prosperity. Meanwhile the
signs of Improvement are delightfully
welcome. We do not begrudge them
to McKlnley. If they had not como
he would have been the most unfortu
nate or men, In our national affairs

perity as a result of certain policy ap
