ests of the race. In considering the
work of such a convention we should
think, that It Is not a question of

stronger. Tbe bank of England Is
behind tbe gold standard movement,
whereas we- have nothing behind tbe
silver movement to guarantee its
success, except our loyalty to Ameri

liberty and loyalty to our homes and
families. I say yes, let us have such
a convention, aod let us meet, willing
to take an oath to do our duty for
those who send us there, and not as
tbe last legislature did, take an oath
of a Populist god.and of a Democratic
rod and a Bepubllcan god. and thus
form a trinity that heaven, earth and
bell could not unite.
