The First Methodist church was crowded last evening with a large au dionce, of music-loving people, the occasion being a song service by the choir, under the skillful leadership of Professor R. A. Heritage. The affair was Indeed a rich musical treat and it will lie somp time before wo again will have tho pleasure of enjoying so pleasant an affair. The program, of anthems, solos and quartetts, was car ried out with great precision and tho appreciation of the audtonco was expressed quite freely after the ser vices. The anthems "The God of Abraham" and "God Is a Spirlt"wero .sung with wonderful expression. The solo, '-Show Thy Mercy," by Miss Martha Traver was greatly appreci ated and Miss Lena White's solo, "When Grief and Anguish," was sung very sweetly. Tho short ora torio, of the 42nd psalm, by Mendcl solm. was a musical treat. The solos by Miss Adda Irwin, Mrs. II. B. Hol land and Mrs. C. W. Boeschen were very acceptably executed.
