Tho first term of the public schools will end on Friday, February 14th. The second term will open on Monday, the 17th. The usual final examina tions for promotion will begin In tho higher grammar grades on Wednes day morning of this week, and con tinue each day of school to Wednes day evening, tho 12th. In the pri mary grades and the lower grammar grades, the examinations for promo tion begin on Friday, the 7th, and con tinue until Wednesday evening, tho 12th. All pupils who do not have to take these final examinations hive a holiday on such day or days as arc ap pointed for those tln.il examinations. The "Graduating Exercises" of these schools will tako place on Wednesday evening of the 12th, at tho opera house. An excellent program Is ar ranged, consisting of tho recitations and declamations by four or live mem bers of tho class, vocal and Instru mental music Is Interspersed, and Hon. G. M. Irwin, Sup't. of Public Instruction, addresses the class. This class will number 30 or more. A small admission will le charged to de fray tho expenses. Our citizens, tho patrons of the schools, and all educational friends should bear In mind the date set for the "Graduating Kxorclses" and show their appreciation of our schools by their prcseneo on that occasion. On Friday morning, February 14th, all or tho public schools will convene at the usual hour. Tho results of tho examinations, tho announcements of tho assignment of classes to teachers and to tho several buildings will be made known.
