Thcro appears to bo no need of reserving any of this balance to pay Interest on the city debt, ns a leferonco to tho treasurer's report for the threo quarters preceding this ono shows that tho recolpt of money fur the general fund during each of thoeo quarters was BUfllclent to satisfy all claims) for Interest falling due In each quarter, so that wo can seo no reason why tho eutlro $14 111 43 should noi huvo been paid out beloro tho ond of tho quarter. Taking the reports nbove mentioned as a guide, It lasafo to say that tin receipts for thU quarter will bo sufUclout to pay the Interest to and Including January 1, 1800, and the samo may be said of tho two following quarters.
