Tho committee of tho Marion and
Linn counties veteran's association met
at Salem Monday to arrango, time,
place and prog rim for tho annual en
campment and reunion at Mehama.
The first encampment whs held there
last year and was attendtd by about
Ave thousand people during tho week.
The dote fixed this year Is July 10,
encampment to Iant a week. Tho pro
gram for the reunion proper lasts three

That town Is too far away lor a large
attendence from the valley towns these
hard times. Although some are golug,
many mure would no doubt like to
have a "shot" nearer home,
Members of the Salem Rod and Gun
Club are proposing a local touanament.
The Salem organization comprises some
of the best shots In the state. The
club here have some funds on band
aud a meeting is to be called to see If
a date cannot be sot, not to couilitt
