Griffith, with the bride on his arm, came down stairs and took places, to a wedding refrain played by Miss Jessie Dalrymple, sister oi mo unue, wno wore a lavender tafeta silk. Rev. Hutchison pronounced them man and wife In Impressive Pres byterian stylo. After congratulations, refreshments were Berved at 0:30. Fol lowing comprised the wedding party, besides those mentiened: Mr. and Mrs. Dalrymple, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Grif fith, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller of Oregon City, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Peebles, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. McMahon, Misses Jennie and Stella Griffith, Dr. Frank Griffith and Carl Griffith, Mr. and Mrs. John Krausse, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Krausse, Lois and Alice Peebles, Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Wiggins, Cbas. Huolat, Al. Hopf, Homer Craven, Rev. and Mrs. Hutchison, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Wade, Miss Nellie Litchfield. The party broke up at 10:30, Mr. and Mrs. Griffith retired to a complelely fur nished cottage home .on Court street and Seventeenth, where they are keep ing house. Tho wedding was a very complete social aflalr, and a credit in every way to one of Salem's tlrst fam ilies. FORESTEKS' SOCIAL. Last Monday evening the Foresters threw open the doors of their hall and admitted the friends of the order, the occasion being in honor of a visit from Chief Raneer J. J. Murphy and Court Deputy Fred Townsend, both of Court Pacific, Portland, Or. An Interesting program was given, consisting of piano solos by Prof.Welmar,lato of Germany; Instrumental muslo by Prof. St. Helens and niece; vocal solos by Miss Long aore; piano solos by Miss Weller, and a recitation by James Mott. All the aboye received repeated encores, show ing a marked appreciation of their ef forts to please. An address was then delivered by C. R. Murphy. His speech was about Forestry and showed the results of a thorough study of that subject. Court Deputy TownBend then spoke for a short time. As to his speech, It had but one fault: 'twas not long don wandered to the utmost point of the north Jetty, where for a time ho disappeared In the spray and mist, causing not a little anxiety for his wel fare, The hotels were so crowded that a number of tho gentlemen bad to bo quartered In private houses where la dles had spare rooms.
