Graduating Exercises of the Friends College at Salem. i Wednesday evening occurred the graduating exercises at the Friends' Polytechulo Institute, thus completing tho first school year. After an opening song by a double quartet of students, prayer was offered by Itev. J. A. Douglas. Then came tbe orations of the three young ladles who thus completed the gram mar school ceurse: Miss Grace Ituan spoko of "Mountains," first from n physical standpoint, afterward draw ing some excellent moral lessons from them. Miss Jessie Nelson presented many well arranged thoughts on "Character and Reputation," Miss Rebecca Ruan's subject was.
