of the taxpayers of Houth Salem
met at tho old Houth Salem school

O. W. Scrlbor was elected chairman
nnd Oliver Jury secretary. The oh

J. M. Blgler.moved and earned that

to extending tho city limits on tho
B-iuth. J. M. Blgler, H. H. Joiv,

carried that it is tho sonco of this
meeting that wo are opposed to any
extentlon of the city limits ou tljo
south.

"Resolved, That It Is the senso of
this meeting that tho county court

What tho Old Council Did at Its
Last Meeting.
The city council met lust evening
with Aldermen La Fore, Lamour
eux, Kleln.Moores, Hunt nnd John
son, present, and Mayor D'Arcy
presiding.
The comraitteo on accounts aud
current expences reported that tho
claim of 8. T. Richardson, for
$328.25, asnttorney's fees, bo reject
ed. Lafore moved the acceptanco of
tho report, which was seconded by
Moores. Johnson Bpoko against its
adoption, when Moores said ho fav
ored paying It nt the end of a law
suit rather thun at tho beginning of
a suit, and thut with some degree of
warmth. Tho vote on tho report
stood live for and one against tho
adoption.
An extended report was also sub
mitted by -the committee on ac
counts and current expenses, con
cerning the condition of tho city's
fliiuncca, which was placed on llio.
