It is a fact that Minneapolis has
included the names' of tbe dogs iu
her city directory. The discovery
was made by u St. Paul mau who
wits looking for "Carl Baxter, col
ored, watchman, Crescent Club.''
He found that Carl was a line brown
dog owned by AV. H. Baxter, the
Stewart of the club. This has led to
further investigation and it is found
that there are thousands of dogs
whose names figure iu the directory
and are used to make it appear that
the population of Minneapolis is
over 200,000. The real population is
about 150,000.

the date of the ending of the world;
some place the event as uear as the

2001. The prophets who have given
the world the most time wherein to

Oregon is ono of the most produc
tive states in the Union. Its vast
mineral regions containsgold, silver,
copper, iron, and coal. Its immense
tracts of grazing lands support thou
sands of cattle aud sheep, and its
extensive agricultural regions pro
duce all the cereals in abundance,
tho yield per acre being, in some in
stances, the largest in the world.
Among the useful and valuable prod
ucts of the Web Foot State may be
mentioned Oregon Kidney Tea,
which lias proved a boon to thou
sands afllictcd with pain iu the back
and kidney difficulties. It is purelv
of vegetable composition aud never
fails. Sold by D. W. Mathews.
An antidote for the elixir of life

It should bo generally known that
Dr. Henley's Dandelion Toulc in

digestion, dispels nervous depression
and low spirits, overcomes lack of
euenrvand wakefulness and will in
fuse new life.and strength into the

This is the season of the year
-when the raw, cold winds create sad
havoc with the hands and complex
ion. Soft white bauds and u clear
"peachy" complexion can be as
suredly preserved by tho frequent
application of Dutard's Specific. If
rubbed into the skin well it leaves
