In between, wnen wttmii one or
these spaces", thcsciHation is thai of
being in a vault. With the solid
snowy clouds below you and the
smaller clouds around you being by
perspective brought close around, it
appears as If you were in a cavern.
I have been above the clouds during
a snow storm, and the ll.4ht.0f the
moon shining bo brightly through
the rarefied air producing an illumi
nation rather supernatural. I have
very frequently passed through
frozen clouds. This is w'lere vapor
has fallen below the free.ing point
and been congealed into a substance
resembling flour in appearance. Tills
falls and iu doing so reaches a
higher temperature, where the small
particles are agreggatcd into Hakes
of snow. Some clouds, however, pre
sent very much the appearance of a
veil, and objects on the earth can be
distinctly discerned from a position
above them. I have never known
of an instance in which a balloon
was hit by lightning. The .thunder
does not make a innveptibly greater
noise than when you are on the
ground. The sound proceeds from
the upper layers of clouds, ns does
also the rain; and in many cases,
when the lower strata appear very
violent, perfect quiet there reigns
except for such motion as is pro
duced bj' the rain falling through
from above. The uppar currents are
most active, and a" cyclone or a wild
storm is perhaps produced according
as those upper currents descend to
or remain noovc the earth.

LOST IN THE STORM.
One of our local editors clipped
from n lcadins magazine extractt
from a vivid description of a western
blizzard which we have takon the
liberty to publish and at the sam.
time suggest to H. II. "Wnrnor & Co.,
the proprietors of tbecnlebrated War
ner's Safa Curo, the feasibility of talc
ing thorofrom an extract for the intro
duction of one of thoir telling adver
tisements. The following is tbe des
cription :
"At the close of a dark day in
January a solitary horseman wends
his way across the open prairie in one
of our western territories. Ho passes
at long intervals tho lone cabin of the
hardy frontiersman. Two or three
old settlers, of whom bo has inquired
tho way, lirtvo warned him that a
storm is approaching, and one of
them, with true western hospitality,
urges him to find shelter in his cabin
for tho night. But he declines the
proffered kindness and urges histlrod
horso forward. Thn sky grown
suddonly dark. He decides
to seek shelter. Tha storm in
creases in its fury. T,he rider
dismounts to warm his fast chilling
limbs. Can scarcely breathe.
Blindness comos on. Drowsiness
steals over him. The end is near.
He ia lost in tho blizzard."
There is no doubt that tho torror
which seizes tbe bowildered traveler
is similar to that 'Which overcomes
one when he learns that ho is suffer
ing from an advanced Kidney Dig
ease, and is informed that he is in
the last stages of Bright's disease. At
first he is informed that be has a slight
kidney affection. Later ho begins to
feel tired. Slight headache. Fickle
appetite. Failure of tho oye-sight.
Cramp in tho calf of the legs. Wake
fulness. Distressing nervousness.
Rheumatic and ncurnlcic pains. Oc
casionally pain in the back, Scanty,
dark coforcd fluids, .with scalding
sensation. Gradual failure of strength.
Any of the abovo symptoms signify
Kidney Affection, but he is told that
he is all right. His physician troats
him for symptoms and calls it a dis
ease, when in reality it is but a
symptom oi Kidney trouble. Ho may
bo treated forllhoumnticor Neuralgia
pains," heart affection, or any other
disease which lie is most susceptible
to. Finally the patient has puffing
under the eyes, slight bloating of tho
ankles and legs, ilia physician may
inform him that it is but tho accumu
lation of blood in his ankles for want
of proper exercise.
The bloat continues and reaches his
body.
Then he is informed he has dropsi
cal troubloi, and is tapped once or
twice. He notices it is difficult to
breathe owing to irregular action of
tho heart, and finally is informed that
he has a slight attack of Bri"ht's Dis
ease. Soon ids friends are notified
that his is an advancod case of
Bright's Disease, and that he can live
but a short timo. His honorable and
dignified physician asks for counsel.
I It is too lato. Still ho sticks to tho
old family physician, and tho physl-
I cian knows and has known from the
beginning that the patient has been
stricken witli death for months, for he
knowB full well that the profession
acknowledge they have no remedies
for tho cure of Kidney Diaoaio.
At last the patient suffo.atei is
u smothered and dies from dropsical
trouble Or perhaps the disoase may
not take the form of a dropsical ten
dency, and tho patient dies from
apoplexy, paralysis, pneumonia or
heart trouble. Or it may tako tho
form of blood poisoning. In each
form tho end is the same. And yet
ho and his friends were warned by
the proprietors of the celebrated
remedy Liown as Warner's Safe Cure,
of tho lurking dangers of a slight Kid
ney affection.
The n wspapers have published the
dangers. Columns of facts have been
printed of men dying from advanced
Kidney .Disease or Bright's Disease.
His friends and physician look around
with horror and regret for seeming
neglect, but ha is lost. He did not
heed the warning that a storm was
approaching. He declined the prof
fered hospitality, and reckles went
forward into danger. He struggled
manfully for a time, but his strength
failed, lie grew gradually weaker nnd
he was lost to the world. Not in a
blizzard, but from tho terrible malady
which is almost daily occurring in
eTenr community, and which"! doc
