County Finances.
County Treasurer Giesy yesterday

Marion comity, which will bo sub
mitted to the county court to-morrow
morning. Out of $125,497.04,
only $10,247.97 is left on the delin
quent roll, and $1600 of this will be
paid off in a day or two. This is the
smallest delinquent roll ever turned
over, and Sheriff Minto informs us
that all but about $2000 will bo col
lected before July 1st. Comment is
unnecessary.

On a Sad Mission.
Claude Gatch left yesterday for
Seattle, having been called there by
a dispatch stating that his brother,
Leigh, was very low with con
sumption, and liublo to die at any
hour. This sad newB will be re
ceived with sorrow by many friends
of the dying young man in this city,
where he spent many of the early
years of his life and where the en
tire family formed ties of closest
friendship.
Creamery Agitation.
Farmers in the vicinity of Jack
son Hill will meet Thursday to take
steps towards organizing a creamery
association. J. M. Wagner and G.
G. Glenn are working up the project.
The creamery question will be dis
cussed bv Salem Grance at their
meeting on Saturday.
The Shaw Estate.
The estate of Angus Shaw, deceas
ed, which was filed for probate last
Saturday, has been admitted to pro
bate wijh Mary J. Shaw and John
A. Shaw as co-executors. The es
tate is valued at $10,000 and the will
provides that It be divided equally
among the heirs.

New Lodging House.
Wm. M. Sargeant and wife have
moved into the Reed house, which
will be remodeled in a few days,
when they will assume control of it
and conduct it as first class lodging
house. Mr. E. T. Hosford has taken
possession of the house formerly
occupied by Sargeants.
Remove It.
The old shell of a building former
ly used as a butcher shop on Liberty
street, near North Mill creek, fell in
last night and a part of it now hangs
over the side-walk to the imminent
danger to passers-by The- street
Commissioner should see that it is
removed.
