arriving here in the fall or that year,

gers and haidshlps Incident to such
a Journey. For nearly forty-three
venrs .Mr. (iesner was a eitieu ui
this (Minion) county, known by all
the early settlers ami by a large cir
cle of fi lends all these years as gen
erous, titrable and thritty. He took
an active Interest in all enterpri -s
tending to promote the licst inter
ests or the community. For several
years he was secretary of the Marion
county agiicultur.il society, which
was dually merged into the state
agricultural society, whose grounds
are located near tills city. A wife
ami eight children, three sons and
live daughters, are left to mourn the
loss of n devoted husband and fath
