McKinney put spurs to his horse and dashed off. ; Then commenced a 'runnimr battle that equaled some of the engagements of the Evans and Sontag days. All the members of the posse, had instruc tions to shoot to kill, and McKinney krw it. As he raced away ahead of the posse he turned in the saddle and sent a bullet from his rifle flying at the pursuers. It missed the ' mark.
