There Is every indication of a big Im
migration to Oregon this snrlnc. The
newspapers published In the Statesman
building are receiving hundreds of let
ters asking for sample copies, and for
Information about the country. .This
has been especially noticeable In the
.past few months, and it' is on the in
crease. Yesterday about a hundred
copies of the Oregon Poultry i Journal
were sent out In answer to these re
quests, beside a big. batch of. letters
answered. This ort of business Is not
profitable to the publishers, though In
some cases subscriptions follow, j But
It Is good for the country Ity the .way,
the forty-page February issue of the
Oregon Poultry Journal la not a bad
thing to send to Eastern people inter
ested in poultry, who sJeslre to come
West. It shows them that there Is
something doing in the poultry Indus
try out here. There Is indeed a, sur
prising growth going on in this line ail
ver the Northwest. ,
