She is recovering from minor
surgery.
Saturday, Mr. and Mrs
Paul Gehrke went to Unity to
cut fire wood. They had a
a picnic dinner with others
who came. They were Mr.
and Mrs. Pat Pittz. Nyssa.
Tony Pitta, Ontario. Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Pittz and family
of Nyssa and Max Moore also
Nyssa. Mr. and Mrs. Tom
Moore and son came in the
afternoon and joined the
group cutting wood.
Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Gehrke were dinner guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Willis Conant.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Conant
and family were also dinner
guests.
Mrs. Dorothy Fox spent
Wednesday. Thursday and
Friday at Marge Griffin's
home in Vale. It was the
meeting of the Treasure
Valley Spinner and Weavers
Guild. Several built Navajo
iooms, and started weaving
Two of the ladies were from
Vale, two from Ontario, a
man from Fruitland and there
were four from Nyssa and
Adrian.
Klaas Lean left Tuesday
morning for Madison. Wis­
consin on a ABS tour and
attended the Dairy Expo
show and sale. He returned
home on Sunday.
Mrs. Klaas Laan and their
houseguests Jake Hoek Spa
ans and Frank De Punter of
Holland visited Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Laan of Middleton
Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray
Laan visited in the Klaas
Laan home Sunday evening
and saw some slides of Jake
Hoek-Spaans and Frank De­

office of one Director for the
Big Bend Irrigation District
in Malheur County. Oregon,

Fire gutted the home of Rateita Gallegos at
104 East 3rd Street, Sunday. According to the
dispatcher, firemen were called out at 4:30
p.m. and again at about 11:30.
Assistant Fire Chief John Pittz said fhe
cause was unknown. He said the interior of
the house was destroyed.
Firemen were called out Monday afternoon
to Park Avenue near the rathoad tracks,
however, it was a false alarm.
