at the County Courthouse in

correct all errors in valuation,
description, or qualities of

In conformance with Fe­
deral statutes and regula­
tions and the Oregon Action
Plan, the Oregon State
Highway Division received
on March 23. 1977, the
Federal Highway Adminis­
tration's location/design ap­
proval on the Brogan Hill-
Brogan Section of the John
Day Highway ( US 26), ex­
tending westerly approxi-
mateiy 8.2 miles from
Brogan in Malheur County.
Oregon.
The proposal consists of
upgrading the existing 8.2
mile section by constructing a
two-lane highway with 12-
foot travel lanes, 4-foot
shoulders and auxiliary lanes
where required, to accom­
modate slow moving vehicles.
Maps and related data
pertinent to the proposal are
on file and available for
review and copying if inte­
rested persons desire in the
Highway Division files. De­

State and national conven­
tions were discussed at a
recent meeting of Malheur
County PTSA Council pre­
sided by Betsy Wrinkle.
Money was voted on to send
two delegates to the State
PTSA Convention in Ashland
April 21422, and to send
Virginia Cleaver. Region VII
vice-president, to the Na­
tional PT A Convention in
Anaheim, California. May
15-18.
Roger Blaylock was named
Master Mechanic at the FFA
Shop Skills Contest held at
Treasure Valley Community
College, Thursday, April 14.
He won this honor by having
the highest score of 30
members from six schools
competing in the areas of Arc
Welding, Oxy-acetylene wel­
ding. Blue print reading.
Electricity, and Farm level­
ing. In individual skills areas
he placed third in acetylene
welding; second in blue print
reading; and first in electri­
city.
Kelly Garner placed se­
cond in electricity and tied for
third in farm leveling. Others
competing on the advanced
team from Nyssa were Greg
Thiel, Pat Sims, and Lynn
Kesler. The combined scores
from all of these boys in all
areas of skills competition
enabled the Nyssa advanced
team to place second. The
advanced skills contest was
won by Baker, followed by
Nyssa. Burnt River, Adrian,
Vale and Ontario.
In the
Beginning Shop
Skills Contest. Mike Williams
from the Nyssa team placed
third in overall competition
which consisted of Arc
Welding. Oxy-acetylene Wel­
ding, Tool Conditioning,
Farm Carpentry, and Tool
Identification. Mike Williams
was first in Arc Welding
competition
and Scott Kes­
ler was third out of 30
Virginia Cleaver reported
on the new rules for
nominating national officers
and on the Oregon Con­
vention and National Conven­
tion.

Win In Overtime

Seven high school teachers
overtook
ten
elementary
members 53-46 in an over­
time faculty basketball game,
April 16.
As the final buzzer soun­
ded. the score was 42-42. In
overtime. Max Brittingham
converted nine points for the
high school team.
Brittingham paced the
high school teachers with 23
points followed by Duane
Buchtel. 13; Gerald Talbot 6;
Dan Martin 6; Ron Radcliff.

Paul Valencia led the ele­
mentary team with 15 coun­
ters. Other members of the
elementary team included
principal Mel Munn. Jerry
Sloan. Steve Glauner. Tom
Snyder, Steve Howe. Gary
Jasper. Tony Martinez and
Ralph Werner.
