Thursday, December 2, 1976 Nyssa Gate City Journal, Nyssa, Oregon NHS Biology Seminar Activities In Arcadia ARCADIA • Marguirite Moss' family were all toge ther for the Thanksgiving Holiday. They gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hill in Homedale, for dinner. There were Bill and Janine Stradley of Pasco, Washington: Karyln and Margie Stradley of Pendleton Vic and Roma Uria and Dennis of Homedale; Steve and Cindy Berrick and Rodney of Juntura; Teila and Layton Noe of Wilder; Larry and Tanya Stansell of Home dale and their two children, Jim and Regina Jamieson, Shelly and Troy of Athena; Mrs. Clella Jamieson of Nyssa; and Gary and Mar guirite Moss of the Arcadia community. The Kesler families had a planned "pot luck" dinner at the C. R. Kesler Jr. home. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Kesler. Sr., Karma and Sally; Mr. and Mrs. Neil Petterson. Connell and Tony; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Petterson and boys. Later in the evening, Janan, Rickey, and Kenny Bunn of Ontario called and also Nancy and Jay Bunn of Nyssa. Karma Kesler of Provo, Utah, came home November 23 for the Thanks giving holiday. Karma is now the Executive Secretary to Dr. Helflne at the Health Center at BYU college. Guests at the Neil Petter«- son home for the holiday were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Walker and children. On Wednesday evening. Mrs. Petterson held a birthday for April Walker. Mr and Mrs. C. R. Kesler Sr. and Karma and Sally were guests. Mr, and Mrs. Johnnie Carroll and family of Tum water, Washington were guests at the Henry Carroll home over the Thanksgiving Holidays. They returned home Sunday morning. Doyel and Frances Carroll of Mountain Home. Idaho, called at the Carrolls on Thanksgiving evening. Jim and Karen Carroll and family were guests at the Henry Carrolls Thanksgiving evening. Esther Stephens and son Willie called at the CarroUa • on Thanksgiving afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bullard spent Thanksgiving at the home of John and Janice Holliday at Harper. Mike and Lynn McCrady came from Eugene for dinner. The nest day they came to Donald Bullard’s home to spend the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Professional Directory Bowers were dinner guests of Oscar and Hazel Schafer at Adrian on Thanksgiving Day. Leila McCrady and chil dren of Boise came Saturday and spent the night and Sunday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bullard and family. Pearl and Otis Bullard went to Lillian Zittercob's home for Thanksgiving din ner. Bill and Janine Stradley of Pasco, Washington spent the Thanksgiving weekend with Bill's mother, Mrs. Amy Stradley. KELLY GARNER IS STUDYING the ecology of attached bacteria in water. Completing a major project in Biology Seminar is the main goal for some Nyssa High School students. Each student is required to com plete one major and two minor projects in the school year of 76-77. They work in many dif ferent areas. Alan Peterson is studying the growth of chicken embryos when va rious hair dyes are injected. Searching for a new sub stance which will identify blood antigens is Gail Clea vers' project. Cyd Morrison is studying the effects of alcoholism on rat metabolism and body tissues. There are just a few examples of student pyijects.
