Could Yon Stop... Suddenly?
Can the sun heat a home in an Idaho winter at a
cost that makes the effort worthwhile?
Idaho Power intends to find out.
Solectric (solar + electric) is an energy-saving
home which will use solar collectors to heat rooms
and provide hot water. The solar heat system is
backed up by an electric heat pump for use during
wintertime cloudiness and for summertime cooling.
The house has energy-saving features that would
be a good idea in any home — solar heated or not:

insulation
