July 31, 1975 Army Apprenticeship Planned For Near Future The first Army-wide ap prenticeship program will begin at many Army posts in a matter of months Acting Army Secretary Norman R Augustne predicts the Army's deci skin to accept national apprenticeship stan dards may benefit "many tens of thousands of sol diers'’ each year. The agree mem signed by Labor Secre tary John T. Dunlop and Augustine makes it the first such program in any of the Armed Forces according to Defense and labor Depart ment officials. Coming at a time when such training is in heavy demand and Vo-Techs are turning students away due to lack of space, initial pro grams will affect jobs invol ved with operation and repair of heavy equipment vehicles, followed by health care, food service, and automotive man» tenance. There are about 460 possible programs. New« About SERVICEMEN Manuel Perez Manuel Perez, »on of Mr and Mr». Juan F. Perez of Nyssa, has completed a summer phase of instruction as a student of the (J.
