THESE NYSSA STUDENTS were first
place winners in the District F Oregon
Business Education Association contests at
Eastern Oregon State College in La Grande
April 5.
Dolores Elguezabal. left, won first place in
intermediate typing; Kathev Shell, first place
in printing calculator and third place in
ten-key adding machine; and Donna
Oldemeyer. first place in beginning typing.
Fourteen Eastern Oregon sinovia com­
peted in the contest where certificates were
awarded for first, second and third places in
each of the following; beginning, interme­
diate and advanced typing, ten-key and
printing calculator, filing, spelling, short­
hand. business law and bookkeeping.
Accompanying the Nyssa students to La
Grande were Cathy Montgomery and OBEA
district representative Dale Schraufnagel.

Roll call was very interesting
as they answered with
“What Jolly Janes has done
for me" or a witty word or
phrase to stump the mem­
bers. Next meeting will be
our 40th birthday.

Mrs. Lyle Halverson in
Parma Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Erie Mausling en­
tered St. Lukes Hospital on
Thursday for surgery and
returned home Saturday.

Musical “Sound of Music"
Thursday evening at TVCC in
Ontario.
Mrs. Bud Walker of

Achievement Day. April 19 at
TVCC in Ontario. They arc $2

birth of a son. Joshua Adam,
born Sundav. April 6 at the
Caldwell Memorial Hospital.
He weighed in at 6-pounds

for the month of March. She

February. A very interesting
contest ended and another, a •

has been started.

BIG BEND IRRIGATION
DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY Gi­
ven that a meeting of the
Board of Directors of the Big
Bend Irrigation District sit­
ting as a Board of Equali­
zation will meet on May 6,
1975, at N 00 p.m. of said day
at the residence of George
Zueger. Secretary, within
said District, for the purpose
of reviewing and correcting
its assessment roll and
apportionment of charges for
operation, maintenance, and
construction charges for the
1975-1976 fiscal year. The
assessment of $.40 per acre is
levied for operation and
maintenance of the Big Bend
Unit of the District. $.40 per
acre is levied for operation
and maintenance of the Park
Unit of the District. $3.80 per
acre is levied to meet the
construction and rehab char­
ges (as determined by the
Secretary of Interior) of the
Park Unit of the District for
the 1975-1976 fiscal year.
The annual operation and
maintenance charge of $N.50
per acre for the season of
1975 for the Park Unit is the
rate set by the Boise Project
Board of Control. All water
used in excess of 3'/> acre
feet is $2.45 per acre foot.
The assessment roll and
record may be inspected by
any interested person at the
office of the Secretary.
