Mrs. Bob Shaw visited her there recently. Mrs. Joseph King and Mrs. John Wahlstrom. who had been visiting the George Dohncrs. took the jet back to Southern California. P.S. Those chickens of ours arc laying nearly two dozen eggs a day now Refrigerator gets a little crowded. Carol Weaver brought us a big white rooster whose morning crowing makes us sound more like a farm should. Now we can start looking for a hen or two to parade out followed by a flock of little chicks. If the cats don't get them first. Our old mama-cat comes daily into our patio and chins herself on the door in order to peek into the window and tell us it's breakfast time. She's so fat. don't see how she does it! ON SALE THIS WEEK BALLARD OR PILLSBURY 8 ox. PURINA REG. OR HOT 4 Iba. SHAVERS CT GRAPEFRUIT CRISCO “SUNSHINE” KR1SPY LI TWIN PAK I WESTERN FAMILY BLUE MOUNTAIN HORMEL > GREAT NORTHERN W /Bfb« Sunday morning at Ihe Methodist Church, Nyssa, and the Rev. Bob didn't have a sermon. The people ga thered and sat down and read their programs. No sermon was listed. He said there were so many of our people who were sick and dying that prayer was needed instead. And the people opened up their hearts and one bv one offered up prayers for the ones who were sick. Once more we could call our church a house of prayer. In the end of the service a holy quiet descended and a spirit of worship and praise was upon the people. How many sick bodies were healed. I do not know. But broken spirits found comfort, aching hearts found rest, and sick souls were made well. Tears washed out the blind ness that had caused some to not sec their brothers and sisters in a spirit of love. This is God at work and it is good. And the people are giving all the glory to the Lord Jesus Christ, God's Wonderful Son! Went to a Minimeeting at the Payette Methodist Chu rch Saturday. There were fourteen or fifteen from Nyssa and numbers there from Ontario. Fruitland, Vale Payette, and Prairie City. Leaders were district officers from Lakeview and Pendleton and points north. They put on a play, unrehearsed and had sent a part that I had learned for it. Well, everyone else read their lines and I stuck out like a sore thumb for knowing my lines. But why read them when I'd worked so hard to learn them? They served us a delicious luncheon. Oh. they do have a grand church! How nice to have a Fellowship Hall on the ground floor and not tucked away in the basement! We're studying Matthew 24 and related chapters in Mark, m the Bible, in our Bible Study Fellowship class in Caldwell. They've some 200 women who meet there weekly from all over Treasure Valley. In our car-load, are Mrs. Ernie Metcalf. Mrs Al Chadwick. Mrs. Merle Lewis, Mrs. Tom Nishitani and Mrs. George Dohncr. all from Nyssa. Apple Valley or NuAcres. Anyhow, in this study we're into the Last days, and it seems to be what we're living in now! Jesus tells all those things to happen in a single generation, the last generation in the end time, No other generation ha. ever lived in which it all happened as today, In particular we have the reforming of Jews into a nation, that which waited 1900 years to happen. Some call this Doomsday talk and shy away from it. If you don't believe in a dooms day, ask the folks at Managua. Nicaragua, or at Vietnam, or other parts of the world where starvation, war and deprivation have become a way of life...and death! Where earthquakes wipe out people by the thousands and flood and typhoon seasonally threaten essistance. How co me we have it so good, we might ask. and for how long? A birthday dinner, honor- 7 oz.
