He will spend the nest three years on active duty, affiliat­ ed with the Regular Navy. Navy. The young Navyman, son of Postmaster Lee Dail, was graduated from Nyssa High School in 1961 and the following year studied at Boise Junior College. Dennis Fife telephoned his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Fife. He will now be instructed in tail-gunnery. The basement of the Eagles Hall was tased to capacity Friday night when 146 business men and new comers sat down to a banquet served by the ladies of the Civic Club. Every available scat was taken and several were forced to wait until later, so big was the crowd. Several were heard to say it was the biggest crowd to assemble in the Eagles Hall for such an event. The occasion was the “Friendship dinner” given by the Com­ mercial Club honoring the new people who have come to make their homes among us. • • • Ronald Forbes* and Irene Jayo were announced vale dictorian and salutatonan respectively of the Nyssa High School class of 1955, by Jack Jenkins, school princi­ pal Forbes*, highest in the class of 57 seniors, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Forbes*. Miss Jayo, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jayo. • • • The male population of Nyssa is espected to go into hiding behind an ambush of facial adornment for the nest five weeks in preparation for the annual Owyhee Canyon celebration. It is espected that within ten day* not a man in town will be recogniz­ able escept by the size of his feet or the area of hi* bald spot If anyone fails to grow a beard it will be assumed that he i* unable to do so. Duane Alter*, editor and publisher of the Gale City Journal is confined at home following a heart attack suffered late Tuesday night of last week.
