First National Rewards
Robbery Apprehenders
First National Bank of
Oregon will deliver five
checks totalling $2.500 to
Oregonians who have assis
ted law enforcement agencies
in the apprehension of seven
recent bank robbery suspects
Each of the citizens will
receive a check for $500.
Rewards were given on the
basis of citizen alertness
during recent robberies dat
ing from July through Octo
ber 1974.
Under the new program.
First National will consider
giving rewards to any citizen
who provides information or
assistance leading to the
arrest of a person or persons
who have participated in a
holdup, theft or burglary of a
First National branch office.
Robert F. Wallace, presi
dent of the statewide fi
nancial institution, said the
program was instituted be
cause rewards to citizens are
a very important incentive in
gaining citizen support and
cooperation.
Furthermore. Wallace said
outstanding citizen coopera
tion has resulted in a record
of 14 arrests in the 15 First
National holdups committed
during 1974.
The amount of the reward
will be determined after a
careful evaluation of the
circumstances of the citizen's
involvement and cooperation.
Factors determining the
amount will also include the
timeliness of the information
provided to police, which is
the key factor in an arrest. In
any case. $500 will be the
minimum reward amount.
First National Bank of
Oregon has 138 branch
offices in its statewide
system.

In providing energy we believe it important to do the things
necessary to assure clean, responsible operation. At the same lime we
think it important that we keep a reasonable balance and sense of
perspective in making these choices.
Enviroiiment.il facilities tor our Pioneer steam plant, proposed to be
built in Idaho, will be quite similar to those of the Jim Bridger plant, using
the latest technology and sophisticated equipment Undoubtedly the costs
