Nyssa's Christmas parade
December 12 will lie rather
unusual in that it will feature
the Christian theme rather
•han the commercial.
It will not be a big parade,
judged by the number of
floats and units to be seen in
larger adjoining towns, but
will depict nativity scenes
and Christian living Several
churches have agreed to
make floats with some
intending to use the scenery
to decorate church grounds
once the parade is over.
Twenty one boys received
their FEA chapter farmer

on Tuesday night and Wed
nesday morning, freezing

Owyhee project gets an
appropriation of $.115.000.
This is the amount for this
project included in the
deficiency appropriation bill
passed by the senate. The bill
passed a* amended in the
conference committee on the
closing day of the last session
of congre*s, which was the
measure defeated by Senator
Pitman’s filibuster
This
amount is not as large as
boosters for the project had
hoped for. hut is a start and
commits the government to a
certain estent in the develop
ment of the project.

Postmistress Lizzie Thump*
son is in receipt of instruc
tions from the department at
Washington urging her to
make every possible effort to
have patrons of the office
mail their Christmas pack
ages at as early a date as
possible. Thia would not only
be an act of humanity to the
overworked mail clerks, by
distributing the holidav busi
ness over a longer period of
time, thus preventing a
congestion but would insure
a much more satisfactory
service to the patrons. Try it
once and you will never do it
any other way.
