The Nytsa Jr. High Bas­
ketball teams began their
season last Friday against
Vallivue.
The 8th grade game wax a
very clone game. Vallivue led
at the end of the first quarter
8 to 6 but at halftime. Nysta
had tied the score at 12 all.
Then Vallivue went ahead
again in the third quarter 18
to 14 but at the end of the
game Nyssa was leading 22
to 19.

Eleven Junior
Bowlers
traveled to Hermiston over
the weekend to participate in
the Oregon Regional Bowling
Tournament.

Calhoun Tells of Strong
Nyssa Wrestling Squad
Wrestling coach Mel Cal­
houn told the Nyssa Lions
Club about prospects for
Nyssa High School wrestlers
at the regular meeting
Tuesday noon at the Twilight
Cafe.
Calhoun said that the
wrestlers will open the
season at Ontario Saturdav at
the Takedown Tournament.
Tuesday. Dec. 10 pan of his
squad will wrestle at Weiser,
the balance will wrestle
Parma at TVCC. which will
be the scene of all home
matches. Dec. 13 and 14 will
be the annual Nyssa In vita
tional, one of the strongest
tournaments of the year.
They will have home matches
with Homedale and Caldwell
Dec. 17, and will close out the
pre-season matches with
Pine Eagle Dec. 19.
Calhoun said that he will
have a veteran squad, with
the leading contenders as
