home for the Women’s Activity Club

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Kiesecker and
son of Anatone, Washington spent Fri­
day and Saturday visiting at the homes
of Mrs. Waller Hillis and Mr. and
Mrs. Lewis Mitchell.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chalupsky of La
Grande were visitors Sunday afternoon
at the home of Mr and Mrs. Jack
Wood.
Walter Nelson of Willow Springs,
Missouri Is visiting at the home ot
his daughter, Mrs. Gabriel Astoreca.
He arrived by plane at the Boise
Airport Saturday.
Mrs. Tom Wiley and children, Mrs.
Don Hatch and the Duane Smith family
were visitors Sunday afternoon at the
home of Mrs Gabriel Astoreca.
Mr and Mrs. Ken Lorensen, Harriet
and Gloria were callers at the Astoreca

Jess Asumendi home Thanksgiving Day.
Fred Harrison and son, Douglas of
Portland, spent a week at the Ora
Newgen home leaving December 3.
Mr. and Mrs. Ira Price were dinner
guests Sunday at the Orville Groves
home in Parma.

dinner and bazaar which washeldatthe
Adnan Presbyterian Church recently
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Mitchell spent
Sunday at the Melvin Pendarvis home in
Pendleton.
Mr. and Mrs. Bud Charland were
Friday evening visitors at the Lewis
Mitchell home.
The Owyhee Church young people
are working on a Christmas Program
to be presented the night of December
19 at the Owyhee Community Church.
Charles C hapin underwent surgery on
a knee at Boise, December 6. He is
doing very well. Friends who wish to
visit or write cards, will find him in
Ward 4, Room 303 at the Veteran’s
Hospital.
Sunset Valley was well represented
at the reception honoring Mr. and Mrs.
Russell Howell on their Fiftieth Wed­
ding Anniversary Sunday, December 2.
The reception was held at the Oregon
Trail Grange Hall with a potluck dinner
and after dinner, refreshments and
social time. Relatives and friends re­
lived memories of earlier years. The
Howells have lived here for many
years. Their children hosted the recep­
tion.
Mr. and Mrs. Tim Holly and daughter
Trina, spent Thanksgiving weekend at

Wilson at Roswell for Thanksgiving din­

Mr. and Mrs. Ken Lorensen, Har­
riet and Gloria attended Memorial
Services for John Spicklemire held at
the IOOF Hall at Riggins, Idaho, Tues­
day, November 27. Mr. Spicklemire,
a distant relative of the Lorensen's
was 85 years old. Survivors include
two brothers, William
and Richard
Spicklemire,
three sisters,
Mrs.
Mary Willey, Mrs. Ann Downend, and
Mrs. Kate Hall. The Rev Irwin Derry
conducted the service.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Abbe and family
of Mt. Vernon were Thanksgiving dinner
guests at the Ken Lorensen home. In the
afternoon, the girls, Harriet, Marcie,
Mona, Mila and Gloria visited the
Astoreca girls.
Harriet and Gloria Lorensen were
among Adrian band members who spent
Saturday at Unity where they went to
get Christmas trees. They expect to
