Let * Hear It For The I .S.
A Canadian news commentator, Gordoe Sinclair, re
cently delivered a tii.iugtotful essay on what’s good ab.>ut
America and Americans. t*e wish it had been written
by an American, but for the most part our top commen
tators dwell oni, on our faults and usually in a caustic and
cynical manner
Here is what Mr. Sinclair had to say:
’•Tins Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for Ame
ricans as the most generous and possibly the least ap
preciated pe.pk on aL the earth............
•■Germany, Jaaar. and., to a lesser extent. Brittan and
Italy. were lifted out trf the debris trf war by the Americans
who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other bil
lions in debts
None of these countries is today paying
even the interest . ie its remaining debts tc the United
States.
■When the franc was in danger of collapsing in 1956. it
was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward
was tc be insulted and swindled on the streets a! Paris.
"I was there. 1 saw fi

they are breaking Canadian laws - are getting American

so.
The school bus that I r ide
goes right by Mr. Burdette's

watching, as our bus pulls
off at every stop at least
once a dai »her. it’s oi the
right side of the road to pull

We the students that ride
my bus are always gening
sloshed around «her. we hit
a poth.-4e or a bump when

So to finish uj my letter,
